Why Katovar

The katovar (Psittacula eques echo) is also known as the Echo Parakeet or Mauritius Parakeet.  These birds were once on the brink of extinction, but human intervention has brought them back from the brink.  Although they are still endangered, they are continuing to increase in number.

I am a bird lover and have a flock of rehomed birds, including  finches, budgies, cockatiels and Indian and African ringneck parakeets (who are close cousins of the katovar).  I look forward to the day when parrots will be protected in the wild and those in captivity have the best lives available to them.
